Taste Causeway northXsouth Ballymoney
As passionate foodies we are delighted to partner with Taste Causeway to become a retail partner in our new store at 67 Main Street, Ballymoney.
Taste Causeway is a celebration of our wonderful local food and drink producers from across the Causeway Coast.
Causeway Coffee beans
"It didn't take long before we wanted to improve the coffee we had at home. We couldn't always leave the house that easily so why couldn't we make coffee which would be better than that of the high street coffee chains?
We knew we had to learn a bit more. Why does one coffee taste better than another? We wanted to appreciate coffee for it's taste and not just as a routine drink."
Fidela Coffee beans
"We are Frank and Rachel, founders of Fidela Coffee Roasters. Our coffee journey began four years ago in Colombia.
After a visit to Frank’s family coffee farms in the well-known coffee region Nariño, we saw amazing opportunities to work alongside his family, to find new and exciting prospects for their coffee."
Infuse Tea
"We launched our own brand of high quality loose leaf teas back in 2016. This was the first step in bringing our dream of launching a Tea Bar into reality.
As tea lovers we are passionate and dedicated to getting it right, to bring you the best possible cup of tea for your enjoyment in-store and in the comfort of your own home.
We started INFUSE sourcing great teas that would be accessible to the public without compromising on quality, we especially loved crafting our own unique blends.
In more recent years we ventured into market of selling exceptional hand-produced teas directly from their producer"
Nua Kombucha
"Ann currently lives in County Antrim with her husband and son, where she carefully brews, bottles and tests our Kombucha.
She is constantly identifying new flavours and combinations, as well as developing her microbial and chemical knowledge of Nua Kombucha."
Long Meadow Cider (non alcoholic beverages)
"The Long Meadow is part of our farm which has been owned by the McKeever family for three generations.
Through our stewardship, we have focussed on Bramley apple production, but each generation of our family has also had a policy of growing a mix of varieties and using different planting processes to further refine the apples we use.
Each generation has passed on different methods and traditions to the next; from Peter (Senior) to Patrick to Peter (Junior) in order to grow and produce the perfect apples on our home farm.
Our cider is pressed and fermented naturally by both father and son; Pat and Peter McKeever."
Dough House
Opened in 2020 the Dough house has developed a reputation for their incredible sourdough bread, caramel slabs and brownies.
We will be stocking Dough House products on Friday & Saturdays.
Irish Black Butter
"Over some years I had been aware of black butter conserve and how it was said to date from medieval times.
It is an old traditional recipe which has been in use here on the island of Ireland.
A combination of bygone days spent in the serenity of the Garry Bog near Ballymoney cutting turf, enjoying homemade scones and pancakes with apple jelly were some of the seeds of inspiration for Alastair’s new venture – Irish Black Butter."
Jam at the Doorstep
"Jam at the Doorstep produce a range of jams, chutneys, curds, salted caramel sauce and Christmas puddings all from their farmhouse kitchen based on the edge of Armoy village."
Taste Joy
"Taste Joy Company is a husband and wife team that started at the end of their first date in June 2016 when Callum surprised Tara with a jar of peanut butter because she said it made any day perfect.
Tara had always been a lover of peanut butter and now Callum had found a unique way to winning her heart, so he started to work on recipes with the hope of reintroducing her to a better version of her favourite product."
Broighter Gold
"Broglasco Farm has been in the Kane family for over 100 years, and the farm has moved on with the times, but we (Richard 7th generation farmer, and Leona) very much appreciate what the generations before us have done, and how we can maintain our farm for the generations to come behind us."
Islander Kelp
“Kelp is incredibly nutritious. It’s a superfood, with more iron and calcium than any other vegetable. It is full of protein, vitamin D, magnesium, selenium and potassium.
It is a scientifically proven fat inhibitor, so it stops your body from absorbing fat. Islander Rathlin Kelp is unique because its texture is so fine and its favour so delicate.
This is because of our unique growing and preservation process. We blanche and freeze our kelp to keep all the flavour and goodness locked in.”
Tartine Distillers
Made in small batches by Chef/Patron Gary Stewart this delicous condiment is superb with all cheeses, charcuterie, Sandwiches and on quality burgers. It is suitable for Vegan diets and is Gluten free.
It has a piquant yet sweet flavour with extra depth and character added with a generous splash of local Black Bush Irish Whiskey which is made at the Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery only a 5 minute stroll from the restaurant "
Blackfire food
Blackfire Artisan Food is the result of 30 years of travel and tasting by Belfast native, street artist, grower, sauce alchemist, and chilli fanatic Tim McCarthy.
Having eaten street food in Central and North America, Africa, the Far East and the Middle East as well as most of Europe and the Indian subcontinent Tim founded Blackfire in 2014 to satiate his appetite for fiery food."
Mussenden Sea Salt
"Our Sea Salt is a pure natural sea salt, harvested by hand from the world-famous Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland."
North Coast Chocolates
"Local is key to our brand.
We will forage, climb hills, swim rivers to find the finest local ingredients.
Our wee country has the most divine produce and we feel this is what will make our chocolates stand out."
